Tamper Torx (Torx Security, Torx TR) screwdrivers have a small pin in the center of the tip that engages with a corresponding hole in the center of the Tamper Torx fastener. Standard Torx fasteners do not have this central pin.

Inspect the tip for any bending, chipping, or rounding. Continued use with a damaged tip can strip the fastener. Discontinue use and consider replacing the screwdriver.
