Product Information

Full details

The Faithfull Wallpaper Brush (200mm) is designed for DIY enthusiasts and homeowners seeking a reliable tool for positioning and smoothing wallpaper during home renovation projects. Its primary benefit is the combination of a comfortable wooden handle and long, soft bristles that prevent tearing or damage to delicate paper surfaces, though users should note that the 200mm width is optimized for standard wall sections and may require a smaller brush for tight corners.

FAQs

Can this brush be used for painting?

No, this brush is specifically designed for smoothing wallpaper. It is not suitable for applying paint.

Is the handle waterproof?

The handle is made of wood. While it can withstand contact with water during cleaning, it should not be submerged for long periods.

How do I store the brush to keep the bristles straight?

Store the brush hanging by the handle or laying flat in a drawer where no pressure is applied to the bristle tips.

Is this suitable for heavy-duty wallpaper?

Yes, the 200mm size and firm yet soft bristles are effective for most standard wallpaper types.

What should I do if the bristles start shedding?

Slight shedding can be common with new brushes. If it continues, ensure the brush is not being used to scrape overly rough surfaces.

Troubleshooting

Bristles are leaving marks on the wallpaper

Ensure the bristles are clean of dried adhesive or debris. If the bristles are splayed, soak them in warm water for a few minutes to help them return to their original shape.

Brush is pushing paste out from under the edges

You are likely applying too much pressure. Use a lighter touch, starting from the center and working toward the edges to control paste dispersion.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Large 200mm head speeds up the smoothing process
  • Soft bristles prevent marring or scratching of wallpaper patterns
  • Ergonomic wooden handle provides a secure and comfortable grip
  • Durable construction suitable for repeated home DIY use

Cons

  • Width may be too large for intricate corners or narrow wall sections
  • Synthetic PVC bristles may lose shape if stored under heavy pressure
  • Requires manual cleaning and drying to maintain bristle integrity

Setup, Compatibility & Care

No assembly is required for this tool; it is ready to use immediately. When using the brush, ensure that your wallpaper has been properly pasted according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Care Instructions:

  • After Use: Wash the bristles thoroughly with warm, soapy water to remove any residual wallpaper paste.
  • Drying: Hang the brush by the handle or lay it flat on a clean surface with the bristles unobstructed to air dry completely.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the bristles during storage, as this can cause them to splay or deform over time.
