FAQs

What is a circular polarizing filter?

A circular polarizing filter is a filter that reduces reflections and glare from non-metallic surfaces while also enhancing color saturation and contrast.

How do I know if my lens is compatible?

Check your lens's specifications. If it has a 67mm filter thread, the filter will fit.

How do I clean the filter?

Use a microfiber cloth to gently wipe the filter's surface. Avoid harsh chemicals.

What is the purpose of the carry case?

The carry case protects the filter from scratches, dust, and other potential damage when not in use.

When should I use the filter?

Use the filter in situations where you want to reduce reflections, enhance color saturation, or darken skies. Ideal for landscape and outdoor photography.

Does the filter affect image sharpness?

The Sony Circular PL Filter is designed to maintain image sharpness. However, ensure the filter is clean and properly attached to avoid any potential loss of sharpness.

Troubleshooting

Images appear overly dark.

Adjust your camera settings to compensate for the light loss caused by the filter. Increase the ISO or use a slower shutter speed.

Polarizing effect is not noticeable.

Ensure the filter is properly aligned by rotating it until the desired effect is achieved. The effectiveness of the filter varies depending on the angle to the light source.

Filter is difficult to screw on or off.

Make sure the filter thread is clean and free of debris. Apply gentle pressure and rotate the filter carefully.

Images have a color cast.

This is normal. Adjust white balance settings in-camera or during post-processing.
