Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Installation of the VFC7000 requires mechanical aptitude. It involves removing the original airbox and filter assembly. The carbon fibre heat shield and rampipe are then positioned, and the cold air feed hose is routed to an area of the engine bay that receives direct airflow (e.g., near the grille or headlight). Ensure all connections are secure and sealed to prevent hot air ingress. The included adaptors (60mm, 65mm, 70mm, 75mm) should be used to connect the rampipe to your vehicle's existing intake piping.
Compatibility:
This is a *universal* kit, meaning it is designed to fit a wide range of vehicles. However, due to variations in engine bay layouts and intake systems, some custom fabrication or modification may be necessary for a perfect fit. It is recommended to measure your existing intake pipe diameter and compare it to the included adaptor sizes before purchase.
Care:
The Pipercross air filter is a high-flow, reusable filter. It should be inspected periodically and cleaned when visibly dirty, typically every 10,000-15,000 miles, depending on driving conditions. Use only specific Pipercross cleaning kits to maintain the filter's performance and longevity. Avoid using high-pressure water or harsh solvents. Ensure the filter is completely dry before reinstallation.
