Product Information

Full details

Derwent Inktense Colour Blocks are incredibly versatile sticks of vibrant watercolour ink. Use them dry for covering large areas, or add water to make them truly come alive. Once dry, the colours are fixed, allowing you to work over them without them smudging, making them ideal for fabric applications on silk, cotton, and canvas, as well as for printing and stamping. Explore various techniques like blending dry blocks with water, applying water directly to blocks, creating stripes by wetting multiple blocks, using grated or shaved blocks for washes, and achieving paint splatter effects by shaking wet blocks. These blocks dry permanently, offering exceptional layering capability without dissolving previously dried layers. Their highly-pigmented colours remain vibrant when dry, creating ink-like effects. Suitable for porous surfaces including ceramic, wood, and fabric, as well as paper, they complement the Inktense pencil range for endless creative possibilities, including stunning silk paintings and quilts.
