FAQs

Can I leave these wind chimes outside all year?

While the bamboo is treated for outdoor use, it is a natural material. For the longest lifespan, store them indoors during severe winter weather or prolonged rain.

How do I silence the chimes?

Use the integrated stopper cord to secure the striker so that it no longer makes contact with the bamboo tubes.

Is every wind chime the same?

No, because the product is crafted from natural bamboo, each piece features unique variations in grain and color.

Will the bamboo crack over time?

Natural bamboo may develop minor fissures over time due to temperature fluctuations, which is normal and does not typically affect the sound quality.

What is the best way to clean the bamboo tubes?

Wipe them down with a slightly damp cloth to remove dust. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners that may damage the natural wood finish.

Troubleshooting

Chimes are not making any sound.

Ensure the stopper cord is not engaged or pinning the striker against the tubes.

The chime sounds muffled.

Check if the striker is centered; adjust the string tension if necessary so the striker hits the tubes at the optimal height.

Bamboo shows signs of discoloration.

Clean the tubes with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; allow to air dry completely.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To install, select a sturdy hook or mounting bracket that can support the weight of the bamboo construction. Ensure the chime is positioned at a height where it will not tangle with nearby branches or structural elements.

Care instructions are vital for longevity:

Avoid hanging the chime in areas prone to standing water or heavy salt-spray.
Periodically check the nylon strings for signs of wear or fraying.
Apply a light, outdoor-safe wood sealant once per season if you live in a high-humidity climate to prevent cracking or mold growth.
During extreme winter weather or storms, it is recommended to take the chime indoors to preserve the bamboo's structural integrity.
