Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Black Edition pencils, follow these guidelines:
- Sharpening: Use a high-quality sharpener suitable for soft-core pencils. Because the lead is supersoft, turn the pencil slowly to avoid snapping the tip. If the lead is too soft due to ambient heat, place the pencil in a cool area for 10 minutes before sharpening.
- Storage: Always store your pencils inside the provided metal tin to protect the wood casing from moisture and to keep the leads cushioned.
- Compatibility: These pencils work beautifully on all paper weights, but they are most effective on toothier papers (slightly textured) which helps grab the pigments from the soft lead.
- Handling: Avoid dropping the tin, as even with the SV bonding process, repeated impacts can eventually cause internal fractures to the core of any wood-cased pencil.
