Setup, Compatibility & Care
To achieve the best results, use a sharp, fresh sewing needle (Universal or Microtex 70/10 or 80/12) to prevent the fabric from pulling or snagging. Since Duchess Satin can be prone to fraying, consider finishing your raw edges with an overlocker or zigzag stitch immediately after cutting.
When pressing, always use a press cloth to protect the satin finish and avoid using excessive heat, which could dull the luster. The fabric is stored in a third-party facility, so ensure you account for potential dispatch delays when planning your sewing schedule. Pre-washing is recommended according to standard satin care instructions to account for minor shrinkage before construction begins.
