Full details
The Black Cat Pellet Pro Mega Pellet Stops are designed specifically for serious catfish anglers who utilize pellet bait strategies and require a robust, reliable locking mechanism. These stops provide the essential benefit of keeping large pellets securely attached to the hair rig during heavy casting or when battling powerful fish in demanding environments. While highly effective for heavy-duty applications, their oversized design means they are best suited for larger bait presentations rather than delicate, finesse fishing setups.

What is the stop depth?
The stops feature a 10mm depth, designed to provide maximum security for large baits.
Troubleshooting
Stop pulls through the bait
Ensure you are using pellets large enough to be held by the 18mm wing span, or check for soft spots in the bait that might be crumbling.
Difficulty threading onto hair
Use a finer-gauge baiting needle to feed the loop of your hair rig through the stop eye before pulling it taut.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Large surface area prevents bait slippage
- Generous 50-piece pack size
- Robust construction for large catfish baits
- Easy to thread onto standard hair rigs
Cons
- Not suitable for small or delicate baits
- Highly specialized design limits versatility
- Larger profile may be visible to wary fish
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To set up these stops, thread your hair rig baiting needle through the loop at the end of your hair rig and pull the pellet stop through securely. Ensure the wings are perpendicular to the bait to create the locking effect. Regarding compatibility, these are designed for large-format catfish pellets and are compatible with most standard monofilament or braided hair rig materials. To maintain the life of your rigging, inspect the stops after each session; while the plastic is durable, constant exposure to abrasive catfish teeth or structure may eventually cause minor wear. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the plastic material from becoming brittle over time.
