FAQs

What tools do I need to install this latch?

You'll typically need a screwdriver, possibly a drill, and a measuring tape.

What is the 64mm dimension?

The 64mm dimension refers to the backset, which is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the keyhole or turn.

How do I measure my existing door latch?

Measure from the edge of the door to the center of the keyhole or the spindle hole (where the handle goes).

Can I use this latch on exterior doors?

No, this latch is specifically designed for interior bathroom doors. Exterior doors require more robust locking mechanisms.

What if the screws don't fit?

Ensure you are using the correct screws provided. If the holes are stripped, you might need to use longer screws or wood filler.

How do I remove the old latch?

Unscrew the faceplate and strike plate. Then, remove the screws from the edge of the door to pull out the old latch.

Troubleshooting

Latch doesn't engage properly.

Check alignment of the latch and strike plate. Adjust the strike plate position if needed.

Key doesn't turn smoothly.

Lubricate the lock mechanism with a light machine oil. Ensure the key is the correct type and not damaged.

Latch feels loose.

Tighten all screws and ensure the latch is firmly seated in the door mortise.
