Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Setting the Time: Gently pull the crown out to the furthest position (often position 2). Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Push the crown back in fully to start the watch.
- Setting the Date: Gently pull the crown out to the first position (often position 1). Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise (depending on the model) to adjust the date. Push the crown back in fully.
- Adjusting Bracelet Size: For optimal comfort, the stainless steel bracelet may need adjustment. This usually involves removing or adding links. It is highly recommended to have this done by a professional jeweler or watchmaker to avoid damage to the bracelet or the watch.
Compatibility
This watch is universally compatible as a timepiece for any individual. It does not require any electronic connectivity or specific device compatibility.
Care and Maintenance
Proper care will ensure the longevity and appearance of your Hugo Boss watch.
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the case and bracelet with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, sweat, and oils. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents, as these can damage the Ion Plating, dial, or seals.
- Water Exposure: After exposure to saltwater (e.g., swimming in the ocean), rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any water exposure.
- Temperature Extremes: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperature changes or direct heat sources, as this can affect the movement and seals.
- Storage: When not in use, store your watch in a dry place, preferably in its original box or a watch case, away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields.
- Battery Replacement: As a quartz watch, it will eventually require a battery replacement. It is strongly recommended to have the battery replaced by a certified watchmaker or authorized service center to ensure the water resistance is maintained and the movement is handled correctly.
