FAQs

How long can my child use the Wedmore cotbed?

The cotbed is designed to last from birth up to approximately 4 years of age.

Can I use standard cot sheets with this mattress?

This set uses a specific small cotbed size; ensure your bedding is labeled to fit a small cotbed to ensure a snug, safe fit.

Is the changing top permanently fixed?

No, the changing top on the dresser is removable, allowing you to convert it into a standard chest of drawers as your child grows.

Does the mattress cover come off for washing?

Yes, the mattress features an all-around zip-off cover designed for easy removal and cleaning.

What is the benefit of the dual-core mattress?

The dual-sided core allows you to flip the mattress, providing different levels of support tailored for the transition from a newborn to an active toddler.

Troubleshooting

Difficulty converting cot to toddler bed

Ensure you have retained all original bolts and the toddler bed conversion rails; follow the instruction manual sequence in reverse to detach the cot ends.

Mattress cover feels stiff after washing

Ensure the cover is air-dried naturally rather than using high-heat tumble drying, which can affect the airmesh material.

Drawers are sticking or not closing flush

Check that the floor is level and the dresser is not leaning; adjust the floor leveling feet if available or ensure the drawer runners are free of debris.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Assembly of the Wedmore set requires basic tools and two people to ensure safety during the construction of the wardrobe and cot. Ensure all bolts are tightened securely during setup and checked periodically as your child grows. The dresser and wardrobe should be anchored to the wall using provided safety straps to prevent tipping. For the mattress, the airmesh cover and anti-allergy protector should be machine washed according to the label instructions. To clean the wooden frames, wipe down with a soft, damp cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners to preserve the natural wood-effect finish.
