These Inner Tubes are available in a wide variety of sizes. 4mm thickness with straight Valve fitment. Excellent resistance to punctures / damage. Overlapping splice - stronger than a butt splice. Splice placed on opposite side to Valve for balance. The Michelin Ultra Heavy Duty Off-Road Tubes feature an extra thick 4.00mm thickness, which provides greater resistance to punctures and other damage whilst out riding. The construction of the tube has an overlapping splice that is much stronger than a butt splice - often used on other inner tubes. The Splice is also placed on the opposite side the valve to create a more balanced inner tube. Please Note - 8.3mm diameter tyre valves are suitable for European and older motorcycles while the 11.3mm diameter tyre valves are suitable for all later Japanese motorcycles. Please note - all codes in the drop down to purchase can be cross reference with Tube information in the specification table. Please check this information before making your choice and purchase. Please note - 18inch option A and 19inch Rear option C do not fit 140 section Tyres.

FAQs
What makes this tube 'Ultra Heavy Duty'?
The 'Ultra Heavy Duty' designation comes from its significantly thicker 4.00mm rubber compound, which provides superior resistance to punctures and impacts compared to standard inner tubes.
How do I know which size tube I need?
Check the sidewall of your tire for the size designation (e.g., 140/80-18). You must also ensure the valve type (8.3mm or 11.3mm) is compatible with your rim.
What is the advantage of the overlapping splice?
The overlapping splice is a stronger construction method than the butt splice commonly used in other tubes. This reduces the likelihood of failure at the splice point under stress.
Can I use this tube for road riding?
While durable, this tube is specifically designed for off-road use. For road riding, a standard or specialized road tube would typically be more appropriate due to weight and rolling resistance differences.
What does it mean when a size 'does not fit 140 section Tyres'?
It means that specific tube size (like 18-inch Option A or 19-inch Rear Option C) is not designed to accommodate tires with a width designation of '140'. Always check the product specifications for exact compatibility.
Is this tube suitable for tubeless-ready rims?
This is a traditional inner tube and is not designed for use in tubeless systems. It is intended for use in wheels that are designed for inner tubes.
Troubleshooting
Tube deflates quickly after installation
Check for a pinched tube between the tire bead and rim. Ensure the valve stem is straight and not damaged. Inspect the rim for sharp edges.
Difficulty fitting the tube into the tire
Slightly inflate the tube before installation to give it shape. Ensure you are following the correct mounting procedure for the tire and rim.
Valve stem leaks
Ensure the valve stem nut (if applicable) is snug but not overtightened. Check the valve core for proper seating. The valve stem itself could be damaged, requiring replacement.
Repeated punctures in the same area
Inspect the inside of the tire thoroughly for the cause of the puncture (e.g., embedded thorn, sharp object, damaged rim tape). The tire itself may need replacement.
Pros and Cons
Pros
Excellent resistance to punctures and damage, minimizing ride interruptions.
Heavy-duty construction increases longevity and reliability in harsh conditions.
Improved balance due to splice placement.
Reduces the likelihood of pinch flats on rough terrain.
Cons
Requires careful checking of tire and valve size compatibility before purchase.
May not be suitable for all tire sizes (e.g., 18-inch Option A and 19-inch Option C do not fit 140 section tires).
Higher cost associated with heavy-duty construction compared to standard tubes.
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Ensure the tire is removed from the rim.
Inspect the inside of the tire for any embedded objects that could cause damage.
Slightly inflate the new Michelin tube to give it shape.
Insert the valve stem through the rim hole.
Carefully place the tube inside the tire, ensuring it's not twisted.
Begin mounting the tire onto the rim, working the bead around.
As the tire is almost fully seated, inflate the tube slightly to help seat the tire beads evenly.
Once the tire is mounted, inflate to the recommended pressure for your riding conditions.
Compatibility:
Valve Diameter: Note the difference between 8.3mm (European/older motorcycles) and 11.3mm (Japanese/later motorcycles) valves. Ensure your rim and pump are compatible.
Tire Size: Always cross-reference the tube size with your tire's sidewall markings. Be aware that specific sizes like 18-inch Option A and 19-inch Rear Option C have limitations and do not fit 140 section tires.
Care:
Regularly check tire pressure before rides.
Inspect the tube for any signs of wear or damage during tire changes.
Ensure proper installation to avoid pinching the tube between the tire bead and rim.
