Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Enclosure Preparation: Start with a clean enclosure. The size will depend on your pet's needs.
- Substrate Layering: Add a drainage layer (e.g., clay balls) at the bottom, followed by EarthMix. The depth should be appropriate for your species.
- Planting: Introduce live plants suitable for your pet's environment.
- Introduce CUC: Add a cleanup crew (e.g., isopods and springtails) to help break down waste and maintain the ecosystem.
- Watering: Water the substrate to maintain appropriate humidity levels.
- Monitoring: Regularly check humidity, temperature, and overall ecosystem health. Adjust ventilation and watering as needed.
Compatibility: EarthMix is designed for a wide range of reptiles and amphibians, particularly those from arid or forest habitats. Always research the specific needs of your pet.
Care: Avoid disturbing the substrate excessively. Remove large waste regularly. Supplement with appropriate nutrients and UVB lighting. Replace the substrate periodically as needed, depending on the setup and usage.
