Blackdown is a pure black wood paint, inspired by the natural beauty of the Mendip Hills. This versatile paint is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, allowing you to transform and protect any timber surface with ease. The environmentally friendly, water-based formula has a low VOC content and is quick-drying, often ready in one to two hours. It requires no primer or undercoat, offering a quick and economical solution for your projects. The paint provides a beautiful satin finish that allows the wood grain to remain visible, enhancing the natural character of the material. It can be mixed with Thorndown Clear for a more transparent finish or diluted with water to create a wood stain effect. For added water repellency after dilution, a couple of coats of UV Clear can be applied. Thorndown paints are formulated with high-quality exterior-grade colourants, ensuring a deep, long-lasting colour that resists UV fading for years. Beyond wood, this paint can also be used on terracotta, metal, and plastic, including PVC window frames. Its excellent adhesion properties make it ideal for various applications, from doors and windows to cladding, decks, sheds, and furniture. Available in a 750ml tin.
