FAQs

What are the folded dimensions of the bed?

The product description states the bed folds more compactly than traditional folding beds, but specific folded dimensions are not provided. Refer to the user manual or contact the manufacturer for precise folded measurements.

What is the weight limit for this bed?

The lightweight galvanised steel frame supports an adult. Specific weight limits are not detailed, but it is designed for typical adult use.

How do I clean the mattress?

You should spot clean the mattress with a mild detergent and water. Ensure it is completely air-dried before use or storage. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

What is the warranty on the Jay-Be QP80 bed?

The frame comes with a lifetime guarantee, and the mattress is covered by a 1-year warranty.

Is the mattress firm or soft?

The mattress is described as a deep, pocket-sprung mattress that adapts to the natural contours of your body for luxurious comfort and support, suggesting a medium firmness.

Can this bed be used for everyday sleeping?

While it offers comfort, it is designed as a folding guest bed for occasional use rather than a permanent daily sleeping solution.

What materials is the mattress made from?

The mattress features pocket springs and breathable fillings. The fabric cover is made from 58% Polyester and 42% Polypropylene, OEKO-TEX certified, and treated with a natural salt-based Fire Retardant.

Troubleshooting

Bed does not fold or unfold smoothly

Check for any obstructions in the folding mechanism. Ensure all parts are aligned correctly. Lubricate moving parts sparingly with a silicone-based lubricant if necessary, following manufacturer guidelines.

Bed feels unstable

Ensure all legs are fully extended and locked. Verify that the J-Grip™ feet are making proper contact with the floor. Check that the frame is on a level surface.

Mattress feels uneven or lumpy

This can sometimes occur if the mattress has been stored compressed for a long period. Allow the mattress to air out fully. If the issue persists after a few nights of use, contact customer support regarding the 1-year mattress warranty.

Rust on the frame

The frame is galvanised and rust-resistant. Minor surface rust can be gently cleaned with a soft cloth. Significant rust may indicate damage and should be reported under the lifetime frame warranty.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: Unfold the bed by releasing any latches and lifting the frame until it locks into position. Ensure the legs are fully extended and the J-Grip™ feet are making firm contact with the floor. The folding headboard can be positioned as needed.

Compatibility: The bed is designed to support an adult. It is generally compatible with standard single-size bedding. The J-Grip™ legs are designed for use on most common flooring types.

Care:

  • Frame: Wipe the galvanised steel frame with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Mattress: The mattress cover can be spot cleaned with a mild detergent and water. Allow to air dry completely. Do not machine wash or tumble dry the mattress.
  • Fabric: For the fabric components (58% Polyester, 42% Polypropylene), spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Ensure thorough drying.
  • Storage: Store the folded bed in a dry, temperate location away from direct sunlight and moisture to maintain its condition. Ensure it is completely dry before storing.
