Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation requires basic woodworking tools, specifically a drill and screwdriver compatible with the provided countersunk screws.
- Ensure the mounting surface is solid and capable of holding the 40kg load.
- Align the butt plate against the post and the strap across the gate frame.
- Pre-drill pilot holes to prevent the timber from splitting during screw insertion.
- Secure the butt plate and strap using the provided 14 screws.
- If the door exceeds 2130mm in height, add an additional hinge centered between the top and bottom hinges.
For care, periodically inspect the screws to ensure they remain tight. While the hot-dipped galvanised finish is highly resistant, keeping the hinge pivot point clean of heavy debris buildup will ensure smooth operation for years.
