FAQs

What sizes is the Silentnight Waterproof Mattress Protector available in?

The product description does not specify the available sizes. Please refer to the retailer's product page or packaging for current size options (e.g., Single, Double, King, Super King).

Is this mattress protector noisy or crinkly?

No, the Silentnight Waterproof Mattress Protector is specifically designed with a 'rustle free' cover to ensure a quiet and peaceful night's sleep. Its soft-touch microfibre surface also contributes to this comfort.

How do I wash the mattress protector?

The protector is fully machine washable. Always refer to the care label on your specific product for detailed instructions on water temperature and cycle settings. Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals, and generally, air dry or tumble dry on a low heat setting to preserve the waterproof backing.

Does it provide protection against dust mites and allergens?

Yes, the Silentnight Waterproof Mattress Protector offers dust mite protection, helping to prolong the life of your mattress and maintain hygiene. It is also hypoallergenic, making it kind to skin and suitable for allergy sufferers.

What is the material composition of the protector?

The protector is crafted with a soft touch microfibre surface on top and a 100% waterproof polypropylene backing underneath, ensuring effective protection.

How deep is the fitted skirt, and will it fit my mattress?

It features a deep 30cm fitted skirt, designed to securely hug and fully cover a wide range of mattress depths, including standard, deep, and pillow-top mattresses.

What is the warranty period for this product?

The Silentnight Waterproof Mattress Protector comes with a 2-year manufacturer's guarantee, providing assurance of its quality and durability.

Troubleshooting

The mattress protector feels like it's shifting or bunching up during the night.

Ensure the deep 30cm fitted skirt is fully and securely tucked under all four corners of your mattress. Stretch the elasticized edges to ensure a snug fit around the entire mattress. Remove any trapped air between the protector and the mattress during fitting.

I hear crinkling or rustling sounds from the protector.

The Silentnight Waterproof Mattress Protector is designed to be rustle-free. If you hear sounds, double-check that it is fitted smoothly to your mattress without any bunched fabric or trapped air pockets. Ensure it is not caught or rubbing against the bed frame or box spring.

The protector seems less waterproof after washing.

Always follow the machine washable care instructions on the label. High heat drying or harsh detergents/chemicals (like bleach) can degrade the waterproof polypropylene backing. Avoid excessive heat and harsh agents during washing and drying to maintain its protective qualities.

Stains are difficult to remove even after washing.

For stubborn stains, pre-treat the affected area with a suitable fabric stain remover before machine washing. Ensure the stain remover is safe for the fabric type. Wash promptly after any spill for best results, following recommended water temperature and detergent.

The protector feels too warm or less breathable than expected.

While the microfibre surface is soft and comfortable, any waterproof barrier can sometimes retain a small amount of heat compared to non-waterproof materials. Ensure your other bedding (sheets, duvet) is suitable for your preferred sleeping temperature. The 'soft touch' design aims to maximize comfort.

Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions

Setup

Unpack: Carefully remove the mattress protector from its packaging.
Position: Lay the protector flat on top of your mattress, ensuring the soft-touch microfibre surface is facing upwards.
Secure: Gently pull the deep 30cm fitted skirt over each corner of your mattress, tucking it securely underneath. Ensure the elasticized edges are taut around the entire mattress for a smooth, wrinkle-free fit.

Compatibility

The deep 30cm fitted skirt makes this protector compatible with a wide range of mattress depths, including standard, deep, and pillow-top mattresses.
It is suitable for use on any mattress type (e.g., memory foam, spring, latex) that fits within the dimensions of the protector size purchased (size information not provided in product details; please refer to retailer's product page for available sizes).

Care

Washing: The Silentnight Waterproof Mattress Protector is fully machine washable. Use a gentle cycle with mild detergent.
Temperature: Follow the specific temperature recommendations on the product's care label to preserve the integrity of the waterproof backing.
Drying: Specific tumble drying instructions are not provided. It is generally recommended to air dry or use a low heat setting to prevent damage to the waterproof membrane. High heat can degrade the backing over time.

Frequency: Regular washing helps maintain hygiene and effectiveness, especially for dust mite protection.
