The Freefoam Weatherboard Cladding Vented Top Edge Closer Trim is an essential component for professional installers and DIY enthusiasts working on exterior cladding projects. It provides a clean, refined finish at the top edge of your weatherboard installation while allowing for necessary airflow to prevent moisture buildup behind the panels. While it excels in aesthetics and ventilation, it is specifically engineered for 25mm systems, making it incompatible with thinner cladding profiles.

While the finish is durable and designed to last, it is generally not recommended to paint the trim as the specialized coating may not bond correctly.
Yes, the materials used by Freefoam are generally robust, but ensure all fasteners used are high-grade stainless steel to prevent salt-air corrosion.
It provides a weather-resistant finish and manages airflow, but it is not intended to be a hermetic waterproof seal; it should be used as part of a correctly layered cladding system.
A standard fine-tooth hacksaw or a miter saw with a plastic-cutting blade will provide the cleanest results.
This trim is rigid and designed for straight runs; it is not intended for use on curved or radius wall sections.
Verify that your cladding system is exactly 25mm in depth; the trim is precision-fit and will not accommodate thicker or thinner materials.
Ensure that the cladding boards were installed flush and that no debris is lodged inside the trim channel before snapping it into place.
To install, ensure your cladding support battens are properly aligned to provide a stable surface for the closer trim. The trim should be cut to the exact length of the cladding run. It is recommended to use stainless steel fixings to prevent corrosion. For maintenance, simply wipe the trim with a mild soap and water solution during your seasonal exterior cleaning routine to keep the sage green finish looking new. Avoid using abrasive sponges or harsh chemicals that could scratch the surface finish.
