Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Mount the soft-pouch case on a wall in a easily accessible location, using the provided eyelet. Ensure it is near potential fire hazards but not so close as to be endangered by a fire.
- Familiarize yourself and staff with the deployment instructions printed on the pouch.
Compatibility:
This fire blanket is specifically designed for use on Class F (or Class K in the US) fires, which involve cooking oils and fats. It is also suitable for smothering small fires in waste bins or electrical fires where the electricity supply can be safely isolated. It is recommended for commercial kitchens, restaurants, hotels, bars, canteens, hospitals, and workplaces.
Care:
- The soft-pouch case is wipeable. Use a damp cloth to clean the exterior as needed. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Ensure the blanket remains protected within the pouch and is not exposed to moisture or contaminants.
- Crucially, the fire blanket must be replaced immediately after any fire incident, regardless of whether it appears damaged.
- The FIA recommends replacing fire blankets after 7 years of age, even if unused. Always check the blanket's condition and follow manufacturer guidelines for replacement.
