Full details

The P&L Pet Beds Oval Softee Bed is designed for pet owners seeking a durable, comfortable, and easy-to-clean sleeping solution for their dogs, especially those prone to getting muddy or wet. Its key benefit is its waterproof construction and simple maintenance. A potential caveat is that internal measurements may have slight variations due to the manufacturing process. This bed features a waterproof polyester cover, thermal fiber filling for insulation, a removable base cushion, and a stylish oval shape with a drop front for easy access.

FAQs

What are the exact external dimensions of the bed?

The external dimensions are Height 24cm x Width 64cm x Length 76cm.

Is the entire bed machine washable?

No, the entire bed is not machine washable. It is designed for spot cleaning and rinsing under a tap. The base cushion is also spot clean only.

What is the filling made of?

The filling is bonded thermal polyester fibre, designed to insulate your pet from the cold floor and prevent clumping.

Is the waterproof coating permanent?

The bed is treated with a water-repellent coating. Like most coatings, its effectiveness may diminish over time with heavy use and cleaning. Regular maintenance as per the care instructions will help preserve it.

Can I remove the base cushion for washing?

Yes, the base cushion is removable and can be cleaned separately using the spot cleaning or rinsing methods described in the care instructions.

What warranty comes with this bed?

The bed comes with a 12-month guarantee.

Are there other sizes or colours available?

This guide focuses on the Large size in Brown. Other sizes like Extra Large and Medium may be available from the P&L Pet Beds range.

Troubleshooting

Bed smells damp or musty.

Ensure the bed is thoroughly dried after cleaning. Allow it to air out in a well-ventilated area for at least 24 hours, especially after rinsing. Check that no moisture is trapped within the filling.

Pet is scratching or digging excessively at the bed.

While durable, the bed may not withstand persistent destructive behaviour. Consider a more chew-resistant option if this is a persistent issue. Ensure the bed is comfortable and appropriately sized for your pet.

Water is soaking through the material.

The water-repellent coating may have worn down over time or due to harsh cleaning. Minor wear is expected. For significant damage, consider replacing the bed. Avoid using abrasive cleaning tools.

Filling appears to be clumping.

This bed uses non-clumping thermal polyester fibre filling. If clumping occurs, it might be due to excessive moisture or improper cleaning. Ensure it's fully dried and try to gently break up any clumps. If the problem persists, the filling may be compromised.

Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions

Setup:

This bed requires no assembly. Simply remove it from its packaging and place it in your desired location. The removable base cushion can be taken out for easier cleaning or to allow the bed to air.

Compatibility:

  • Pets: Suitable for dogs and other pets that enjoy a comfortable, enclosed sleeping space. Ideal for large breeds.
  • Home Use: Designed for indoor use in any room of the house. Its waterproof nature also makes it suitable for use in utility rooms or conservatories.

Care:

  • Daily Cleaning: Brush off loose dirt and debris regularly.
  • Spot Cleaning: For minor spills or stains, use a damp cloth to wipe the affected area. Allow to air dry.
  • Rinsing: For more significant dirt or wetness, the bed can be rinsed under a running tap. Ensure the bed is thoroughly dried before allowing your pet to use it again.
  • Base Cushion: The removable base cushion can be cleaned separately using the same methods.
  • Washing Machine: Do not place the entire bed or the base cushion in a washing machine, as this may damage the filling and waterproof coating.
