Setup, Compatibility & Care
Preparation: Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and free from old finishes, dirt, or grease. Lightly sand any rough areas and dust thoroughly. For previously oiled or waxed surfaces, ensure they are stripped back to bare wood.
Compatibility: Ideal for teak, iroko, and other hard or exotic woods. Test on an inconspicuous area first if unsure.
Application: Apply a liberal coat using a clean, lint-free cloth or brush, working with the grain. Allow the oil to penetrate for 15-30 minutes, then wipe away any excess with a clean cloth. For a richer finish, apply a second coat after the first has dried (usually 12-24 hours), repeating the excess removal process. Allow at least 48 hours for the finish to cure fully before use.
Care: Clean with a damp cloth. Reapply annually or as needed, especially after harsh weather conditions, to maintain protection and appearance.
