Setup, Compatibility & Care
When your 5-6ft tree arrives, it should be transplanted into a larger pot or your chosen garden location immediately. If potting, ensure you use a high-quality, free-draining compost and a pot at least 15-20 litres to allow for root development.
- Planting: Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball and ensure the soil is loose.
- Watering: Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged during the first growing season.
- Pruning: If you wish to maintain a height under 12ft, perform light pruning in late winter or early spring before the buds break.
- Feeding: Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring to encourage healthy growth.
