What material is the chest made from?
The chest is constructed from real, sustainably sourced American White Oak with a durable wax finish.

How should I clean and maintain the waxed oak finish?

What is the overall style of this chest?
The style is rustic oak, characterized by a distressed finish that enhances the natural grain of the wood, providing a warm and homely touch.
Troubleshooting
Drawers stick or are difficult to open/close.
Ensure the chest is on a level surface. Check for any debris inside the drawer runners. If the issue persists, a light application of beeswax or furniture wax to the runners might help.
Surface has minor scratches or scuffs.
For minor imperfections on the waxed finish, a touch-up wax or a furniture repair crayon in a matching shade can often conceal the mark. Apply according to product instructions.
The chest feels unstable.
Verify that the chest is placed on a completely flat and level floor. Ensure all drawers are closed properly. If the instability is significant, contact customer support as there might be a structural issue.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: This chest arrives fully assembled, so setup primarily involves deciding on its placement. Ensure the chosen location can support its weight and is on a level surface.
Compatibility: The chest is designed for bedroom use. Its rustic oak style complements traditional, country, or farmhouse interior designs. It pairs well with other items from the Zelah Oak collection.
Care: To maintain the waxed finish and the natural beauty of the oak:
- Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
- For spills, wipe immediately with a slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, silicone-based polishes, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the wax finish and the wood.
