Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Planning: Determine the cable route and measure the required length. Add extra length for connectors and any potential obstacles.
- Installation: Run the cable, ensuring it is securely fastened and protected from physical damage. Avoid sharp bends.
- Terminating: Terminate the cable with RJ45 connectors. Use shielded connectors for best performance.
- Grounding: Connect the drain wire to a proper grounding point at both ends of the cable for optimal protection and performance.
Compatibility
The kenable Cat6 FTP cable is compatible with:
- Gigabit Ethernet devices
- Network switches, routers, and other network devices
- RJ45 connectors
Care
- Avoid Sharp Bends: Do not bend the cable excessively, as this can damage the internal conductors.
- Protect from Physical Damage: Secure the cable to prevent it from being stepped on, run over, or exposed to sharp objects.
- Regular Inspection: Inspect the cable periodically for any signs of damage, such as cuts or abrasions. Replace damaged cables immediately.
- Environmental Protection: Ensure that the cable is protected from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight, which can degrade the outer sheath over time.
