This BG Electrical Nexus Metal single switched power socket is designed for homeowners seeking a modern and convenient way to charge multiple devices directly from a wall outlet. Its primary benefit is integrating fast-charging USB-A and USB-C ports alongside a standard power outlet, reducing the need for separate adapters. A potential consideration is that it replaces a standard single socket, so ensure it fits your existing electrical layout.

This is a single switched power socket. While it has integrated USB ports, it is designed primarily for one main plug and potentially one USB device, or two USB devices if used without the main plug. For simultaneous charging of multiple high-power devices, consider a dedicated multi-port charger.
Smart fast charge refers to the socket's ability to detect the specific charging requirements of your connected USB device (like an iPhone or Android phone) and adjust the voltage and current accordingly using PD or QC protocols to charge it as quickly and safely as possible.
A minimum mounting box depth of 25mm is recommended for installation due to the integrated electronics.
This product is guaranteed against faulty materials and workmanship for 10 years from the date of purchase.
The main power outlet is switched. The USB ports provide power when the socket is live and are not independently switched.
While it has a moisture control gasket, standard electrical regulations regarding socket placement in bathrooms must be followed. Consult a qualified electrician for suitability in specific zones.
Ensure the device is compatible with PD or QC fast charging. Try a different USB cable. Confirm the main socket is receiving power.
Verify that both the device and the charger support fast charging protocols. Ensure no other high-drain USB devices are connected simultaneously if the socket has multiple ports (though this is a single socket model).
Check the circuit breaker or fuse for the relevant circuit. Ensure all wiring connections are secure. This should be checked by a qualified electrician.
This may indicate moisture ingress. Ensure the area is dry and consider checking the moisture control gasket. Clean gently with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
Setup: This socket requires installation by a qualified electrician. Ensure the power is isolated before installation. A minimum mounting box depth of 25mm is recommended. The color-coded captive screw terminals facilitate easy wiring.
Compatibility: Compatible with standard mains voltage. The USB ports support PD and QC charging protocols for most modern iOS and Android devices. Ensure your device supports these fast-charging standards for optimal performance.
Care: Clean the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, which can damage the brushed steel finish. The integrated moisture control gasket helps protect the metal edges from tarnishing.
