FAQs

What does '9 Tog' mean?

Tog is a measure of thermal insulation. A 9 Tog rating indicates the duvet is moderately warm, making it suitable for spring and autumn conditions.

Is this duvet suitable for allergy sufferers?

Yes, the duvet is hypoallergenic and anti-dust mite, making it a good choice for individuals prone to allergies.

How do I wash the duvet?

You can machine wash the duvet at home on a 40-degree cycle with a mild detergent. Ensure it is thoroughly dried, preferably by tumble drying on a low heat setting.

Can I use this duvet in winter?

While it provides moderate warmth, it may not be sufficient for very cold winter nights. You can increase its warmth by fastening it with another Homescapes duvet of a different Tog rating.

What are the dimensions of the Super King size duvet?

The Super King size duvet measures 260cm x 220cm.

Is the down ethically sourced?

Yes, the down filling is Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certified, ensuring it is ethically sourced and traceable.

What is baffle box construction?

Baffle box construction uses internal fabric walls within the duvet cover to create individual compartments for the filling. This prevents the down from shifting and ensures even distribution, eliminating cold spots and maximizing loft.

Troubleshooting

Duvet feels flat or lacks loft

Allow the duvet to air out for several hours after unpacking. If it doesn't regain its loft after washing, ensure it is thoroughly tumble dried on a low heat setting, as residual moisture can cause clumping.

Filling is uneven or clumping

Gently shake the duvet to redistribute the filling. Ensure the baffle box construction is intact. If clumping persists after washing and drying, it may indicate insufficient drying; repeat the tumble dry cycle on low heat.

Duvet feels too warm or too cool

The 9 Tog rating is ideal for spring/autumn. For cooler nights, consider fastening a second, higher Tog duvet. For warmer nights, use the duvet on its own or consider a lower Tog duvet.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: Unpack the duvet and allow it to air out for a few hours to regain its loft. Place it inside your duvet cover. The duvet features plastic fasteners on the edges, designed to connect with compatible Homescapes duvets for increased warmth.

Compatibility: This Super King Size duvet measures 260cm x 220cm and is designed to fit standard Super King size duvet covers. It is compatible with other Homescapes duvets featuring similar fastening mechanisms for combining Tog ratings.

Care Instructions:

  1. Washing: Machine wash at home using a 40-degree cycle.
  2. Detergent: Use a mild detergent. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals.
  3. Drying: Tumble dry on a low heat setting. Ensure the duvet is thoroughly dry to prevent clumping of the down filling. It may require several cycles. Alternatively, air dry flat, turning regularly.
  4. Frequency: Wash as needed, typically once or twice a year, or when visibly soiled.
