The Angling Pursuits TARGET 50 is an ideal all-round coarse fishing reel for entry-level anglers and hobbyists seeking a reliable, ready-to-use solution for freshwater spinning. Pre-spooled with 10lb line, it removes the immediate need for manual setup, though its basic 1BB construction is best suited for casual fishing rather than high-intensity professional competition.

The TARGET 50 is designed primarily for freshwater coarse angling and may corrode if exposed to salt water frequently.
No, the reel features a single graphite spool, which comes pre-spooled with 10lb line.
This reel features a 1BB (single ball-bearing) system engineered for simplicity and durability in general fishing conditions.
The front drag system allows for consistent adjustment, making it suitable for managing standard coarse fish sizes.
While the reel can technically handle braid, the graphite spool is optimized for the pre-spooled monofilament line provided.
Ensure the bail arm is fully closed before starting your retrieve and check that the line is not twisted during initial casting.
Apply a small amount of dedicated fishing reel oil to the bail arm hinge and main gear assembly to ensure smooth movement.
Tighten the handle locking cap securely to eliminate play in the cranking mechanism.
To change the handle orientation, simply unscrew the handle locking cap on the opposite side of the reel and swap the handle arm to your preferred side. Always rinse the reel with a damp, clean cloth after fishing to remove silt or debris from the line roller and spool. Avoid submerging the reel in water. When storing, loosen the drag knob slightly to preserve the life of the internal drag washers.
