Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Power off your Synology NAS.
- Open the drive bays and remove any existing drives if necessary.
- Install the HAT3320-8T drive into an empty bay, securing it with screws.
- Close the drive bays and power on the NAS.
- Follow the Synology DSM (DiskStation Manager) prompts to initialize the new drive and integrate it into your storage pool.
Compatibility:
The HAT3320-8T is specifically designed and tested for Synology NAS devices. While it uses standard SATA III connections, optimal performance and seamless firmware updates are guaranteed primarily within the Synology ecosystem.
Care:
- Environment: Operate the drive within the specified temperature range (5°C - 60°C). Avoid environments with excessive dust, humidity, or magnetic fields.
- Firmware Updates: Regularly check for and apply firmware updates through Synology DSM. This ensures optimal performance, security, and compatibility.
- Physical Handling: Handle drives with care to avoid physical shock or drops, especially when installing or removing them.
