The YouGarden Eucalyptus 'Compact Silver' trees are designed for homeowners and gardeners seeking the aesthetic appeal and signature fragrance of eucalyptus without the invasive growth habit of traditional gum trees. Ideal for patios, container gardening, or smaller borders, these trees provide consistent evergreen beauty and silver-blue foliage year-round; however, they require regular light pruning to maintain their bushy, compact shape.

This is a compact variety, but it should still be trimmed once or twice a year to maintain its shape; if left unpruned, it will grow into a small tree rather than a shrub.
Yes, they thrive in large patio containers. Use a well-draining potting mix and consider repotting into a larger container every two years as the roots fill the space.
In most UK climates, these trees are hardy enough to remain outdoors, but ensure they are in a sheltered spot if temperatures drop significantly.
Pruning is best performed in late spring or mid-summer when the plant is actively growing to help it recover and bush out quickly.
Eucalyptus leaves contain oils that can be irritating to pets if ingested. It is best to place them where cats or dogs cannot easily reach the foliage.
Often caused by waterlogged soil; check for drainage and reduce watering frequency if the soil remains constantly soggy.
This is a sign of insufficient light or lack of pruning; move to a sunnier position and prune back branches to encourage side-shoot growth.
Typically indicates low humidity or dry soil; ensure consistent moisture levels and avoid placing in locations with intense, drying winds.
When you receive your plants, ensure they are watered thoroughly before transplanting. They perform best in full sun but will tolerate light shade. Use a high-quality, free-draining potting compost if planting in containers, and ensure your pots have adequate drainage holes. To maintain the 'Compact Silver' form, plan for one or two pruning sessions per year—ideally in late spring or summer—to encourage bushy growth. Feed during the active growing season with a balanced fertilizer to support dense leaf production and keep the foliage vibrant.
