The Keypak Sanding Sponge Block Kit (1SEL109) is designed for DIY enthusiasts and homeowners seeking a versatile tool for surface preparation on wood, plaster, paint, and filler. Its primary benefit is the combination of a dual-sided block that handles both flat and contoured surfaces, though users should note that the kit requires manual assembly and sheet replacement for different grit stages during large-scale projects.

This kit is primarily designed for dry sanding applications.
The soft side conforms to curved or contoured surfaces, while the firm side provides a flat, rigid surface for leveling.
The kit includes 10 sheets total: 3 fine, 4 medium, and 3 coarse.
While intended for wood, plaster, and paint, it can be used for light surface scuffing on metal, though it is not optimized for heavy metal fabrication.
Standard sandpaper sheets can generally be cut to size if they fit the slide mechanism, but it is recommended to use Keypak-compatible refills.
Ensure the slide mechanism is fully locked into position and the sheet is centered.
Tap the block against a surface to dislodge loose particles or use a soft brush to clear the sanding surface.
To set up the block, use the precision slide mechanism to tension the sandpaper sheet securely across the desired side of the sponge. Ensure the sheet is taut to avoid tearing during use. For care, gently tap the block against a hard surface or use a dedicated sanding belt cleaner to remove trapped dust after each use. Store the sponges and extra sheets in a dry, cool environment to prevent grit degradation and adhesive failure.
