FAQs

What type of wall is required for installation?

A solid brick wall is required. The wall must be capable of supporting a weight of approximately 110kg when the water butt is full. Fixings for solid brick walls are included.

Do I need a diverter kit?

No, the Prestige 2.0 has a unique design that collects water until full and then naturally overflows, eliminating the need for a separate diverter kit.

Can I connect multiple water butts together?

Yes, the Prestige 2.0 is expandable. You can connect additional water butts to increase your total water storage capacity.

What size drill bit do I need for installation?

For solid brick walls, you will need a 12mm drill bit for the bottom fixings and a 10mm drill bit for the top fixings.

Can the tap be fitted on either side?

Yes, the water butt has two 3/4" BSP female outlets, allowing the tap to be fitted on either the left or right side.

What are the dimensions of the water butt?

The dimensions are Height: 119.5 cm, Width: 47.5 cm, and Depth: 24.5 cm.

What material is the water butt made from?

The water butt is made from Mdpe (Medium Density Polyethylene).

Troubleshooting

Water butt not filling

Check that the downpipe is correctly aligned with the inlet and that there are no obstructions in the downpipe or the water butt's inlet.

Tap is leaking

Ensure the tap is securely tightened onto the brass outlet. If the leak persists, check the internal washer for wear or damage.

Water butt wobbles or feels insecure

Verify that all wall fixings are tightened securely and that the wall itself is structurally sound and capable of supporting the weight. Re-check drill hole sizes and fixing type suitability.

Overflow is not working correctly

Ensure the overflow outlet is clear of debris and that the water butt is level. The overflow is designed to manage excess water once the butt is completely full.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Wall Preparation: Ensure you have a solid brick wall that can safely support a full water butt (approximately 110kg). Clean the mounting area.
  2. Fixing Points: The Prestige 2.0 requires two base fixings and two top fixings. For solid brick walls, use the provided Fischer fixings. Refer to the included instructions for precise drill bit sizes (12mm for base, 10mm for top fixings).
  3. Mounting: Securely attach the water butt to the wall using the provided fixings.
  4. Tap Installation: The 3/4" BSP tap can be fitted to either of the two outlets on the bottom of the water butt. Ensure it is securely tightened.
  5. Overflow: The integrated overflow system is designed to manage excess water automatically when the butt is full.

Compatibility:

  • This water butt is designed for wall mounting.
  • It is suitable for installation alongside most standard UK downpipes. The overflow connects to your existing downpipe system.
  • Fixings are provided for solid brick walls. If you have a different wall type, you may need alternative fixings.

Care:

  • Clean the exterior of the water butt periodically with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners that could damage the Mdpe material.
  • During winter, if there is a risk of freezing, it is advisable to empty the water butt to prevent damage.
