Troubleshooting

Latch feels stiff to turn

Apply a small amount of lubricant to the center pivot point and operate the latch several times to distribute it.

Latch arm does not hold the door shut

Check that the mounting position is aligned correctly with the door edge; you may need to move the latch slightly closer to the frame edge.

Screws are stripping the wood

Ensure you are using a pilot hole before driving the screws into harder wood types.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Durable galvanised finish for superior weather protection
  • Simple, intuitive manual operation
  • Easy surface-mounted installation for DIYers
  • Robust construction for reliable property security
  • Versatile use across indoor and outdoor projects

Cons

  • Does not include a locking key mechanism
  • Not suitable for high-security environments
  • Manual turn design requires direct physical access

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation is straightforward and requires only basic tools, such as a screwdriver or a drill.

  1. Hold the latch against the desired surface on your door or frame.
  2. Mark the screw hole positions.
  3. Use the included hardened wood screws to mount the base to your timber surface.
  4. Ensure the arm rotates freely over the target edge.

To keep the latch in top condition, wipe it down occasionally with a soft cloth to remove dirt. If the latch becomes stiff due to debris or long-term outdoor exposure, applying a light machine oil to the pivot point will ensure smooth operation.
