FAQs
What is the recommended height range for this bicycle?
This bicycle is suitable for children with a height range of 110-120 cm for optimal safety and comfort.
Are the stabilisers easy to remove?
Yes, the stabilisers are designed to be easily removable once your child has gained confidence and is ready to ride independently.
Does the bicycle come with brakes on both wheels?
Yes, for optimal safety, the Toimsa Vintage 16-inch Bicycle is equipped with both front and rear caliper brakes.
Can the front wicker basket be detached?
Yes, the front wicker-style basket can typically be detached if preferred, although it contributes to the bike's retro charm and utility.
What type of tires does this bike have?
It features pneumatic (air-filled) tires with 16-inch spoked wheels, providing a comfortable and smooth riding experience.
Is assembly required after purchase?
Yes, some assembly is required. This typically includes attaching the handlebars, front wheel, saddle, stabilisers, and accessories.
How do I adjust the saddle and handlebars?
The saddle and handlebars are adjustable. They can be moved up or down using the quick-release mechanisms or bolts to find the perfect ergonomic fit for your child's height.
Troubleshooting
Stabilisers seem wobbly or uneven.
Ensure both stabiliser wheels are touching the ground simultaneously when the bike is upright. Check that all bolts securing the stabilisers to the frame are fully tightened. They should be snug to prevent movement.
Brakes are not stopping effectively or feel loose.
Inspect the brake pads to ensure they are making full contact with the wheel rim and are not worn out. Check the brake cables for proper tension; adjust the cable tensioner near the brake lever or caliper if needed to achieve firm braking.
Saddle or handlebars slip down during use.
Loosen the quick-release lever or bolt at the base of the saddle post or handlebar stem. Re-adjust to the desired height and then firmly tighten the quick-release lever or bolt, ensuring it is secure enough to prevent slipping without over-tightening.
