Setup, Compatibility & Care
To use the scanner, ensure your vehicle is OBD2 compliant—all cars, SUVs, and light trucks sold in the United States since 1996 fall into this category.
- Ensure the ignition is off before plugging the scanner into the port.
- Once connected, turn the ignition to the 'On' position (engine off).
- Follow the on-screen prompts to read or clear codes.
For care, store the device in a cool, dry place inside your vehicle to prevent screen damage. Avoid exposing the cable to sharp edges or excessive heat, and keep the connector pins free of dirt and debris to maintain a solid connection to your vehicle.
