Full details

This is a 1:48 scale model assembly kit of the Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien, also known by its Allied reporting nickname 'Tony'. Developed by Tamiya, this kit allows enthusiasts to build a faithful replica of the WWII Japanese fighter aircraft. The Ki-61 Hien was distinctive among Japanese fighters for its liquid-cooled Ha-40 engine, a license-produced Daimler-Benz powerplant, which sometimes led to it being mistaken for German or Italian aircraft. It saw combat from early 1943, proving to be a capable aircraft with a top speed of 580km/h, and was used in the defense of the Solomon Islands and as an interceptor against B-29 bombers. The kit requires assembly and does not include tools, glue, or paints, which must be purchased separately. Manufacturer: Tamiya.
