This Piko Expert DB BR78 Steam Locomotive III features DCC-Sound and is HO Gauge. It is a contemporary replacement for the popular BR 78, representing the first steam locomotive in Piko's Expert product line. The model boasts intricate details such as freestanding cables, a finely replicated cab, water boxes, and smoke chamber with rivet heads. Wheelset stars and controls are delicately rendered. It offers excellent driving characteristics thanks to a five-pole Piko motor with flywheel, and high traction is achieved through additional weights and two traction tires. The locomotive is equipped with a Piko SmartDecoder 4.1 with matching vehicle sound and a factory-installed smoke unit. Direction-dependent LED lighting creates an authentic operating mood, and brake hoses for retrofitting are included.
