Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
This socket is designed for direct soldering to a cable. Ensure you have basic soldering equipment and skills.
- Prepare the cable wires by stripping a small amount of insulation.
- Insert the wires into the corresponding pin holes on the back of the socket.
- Carefully solder each wire to its pin, ensuring a clean and strong connection.
- The integrated bend relief should be positioned to support the cable where it enters the socket to prevent strain on the solder joints.
Compatibility:
- Connector Type: Compatible with standard 4-pin Mini-DIN plugs.
- Cable Type: Suitable for use with multi-conductor cables where individual wires can be soldered.
- Applications: Ideal for S-Video, PS/2 (though typically 6-pin), and other data/audio/video signals that use a 4-pin Mini-DIN connector.
Care:
- Keep the socket clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft brush if necessary.
- Avoid exposing the socket to excessive moisture or harsh chemicals.
- Ensure connections remain secure and free from corrosion. If cleaning is needed, use a contact cleaner sparingly.
