Setup, Compatibility & Care
Planting: Select a location that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day. Prepare the soil by amending it with compost for better drainage and fertility. Plant Rudbeckia Goldsturm at the same depth it was in its container. Water thoroughly after planting.
Compatibility: This perennial pairs well with a variety of garden plants, including ornamental grasses, coneflowers, asters, and hostas. It thrives in mixed borders and cottage gardens.
Care: Water regularly during the first growing season to establish the plant. Once established, it is quite drought-tolerant, though occasional watering during prolonged dry spells will benefit flowering. Deadheading spent blooms can encourage further flowering and prevent self-seeding if not desired. Divide clumps every 3-4 years in early spring to maintain vigor and prevent overcrowding. In areas prone to powdery mildew, ensure good air circulation by spacing plants appropriately.
