Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Assembly is required for the PawHut Wooden Chicken Coop. It is recommended to have two people for easier construction. Unpack all components and hardware, referring to the included instruction manual for step-by-step guidance. Ensure the coop is placed on a level surface in a sheltered location.
Compatibility: This coop is designed for small pet breeds, such as standard chickens, bantams, or other small fowl. It is not suitable for larger breeds or multiple large animals due to space limitations.
Care: To maintain the coop's longevity and your pets' health:
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the interior using the removable tray and access doors. Use a mild detergent and water, ensuring the coop is thoroughly dry before reintroducing pets.
- Wood Treatment: Periodically inspect the fir wood for any signs of wear or damage. Apply a pet-safe wood sealant or stain annually to protect against moisture and extend the wood's lifespan.
- Mesh Inspection: Check the wire mesh regularly for any loose sections or damage that could compromise security.
- Waterproof Roof: Ensure the roof remains intact and waterproof; repair any cracks or holes promptly.
