Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your gate, installation should involve mounting to sturdy, pressure-treated timber posts set firmly into the ground with concrete. When hanging, ensure a small clearance gap is maintained at the bottom to prevent contact with damp soil or debris. Compatibility with standard garden gate hardware is high; however, always choose corrosion-resistant fittings to match the lifespan of the treated wood. For maintenance, it is recommended to inspect hinges and latches annually to ensure they remain tight. While the gate is Tanalised, applying an additional wood preservative or outdoor stain every few years will help preserve the brown pigment and provide extra moisture repellency.
