How long is the leash tape?

How do I clean the leash tape?

You can clean the tape by unrolling it completely and wiping it with a damp cloth and water. Ensure it is dry before retracting. Avoid using detergents.

Troubleshooting

The leash tape does not retract smoothly.

Ensure the tape is not twisted or caught on anything. Check for debris or dirt on the tape and wipe it clean. If the issue persists, the internal spring mechanism may require professional inspection.

The braking system feels stiff or unresponsive.

Check if the brake lever is obstructed. Clean any dirt or debris around the mechanism. Ensure the tape is not caught within the casing. If stiffness remains, contact customer support.

The carabiner is difficult to attach or detach.

Ensure the carabiner is clean and free of dirt or rust. Test its movement. If it remains stiff, apply a small amount of lubricant designed for metal parts, avoiding contact with the leash tape.

The lead makes a loud noise when retracting.

Some noise is normal due to the retraction mechanism. However, excessively loud or grinding noises might indicate an issue with the internal spring or casing. Contact customer support if the noise is concerning.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Significantly increases safety during nighttime or low-visibility walks.
Provides a good balance of freedom for the dog and control for the owner with its 5m length.
Easy and intuitive to use, especially the braking and locking mechanism.
Robust build quality ensures durability for regular use.
Neon color and reflective elements make both dog and owner more visible.

Cons

Maximum load weight of 15 kg limits its use to smaller to medium-sized dogs.
The neon color might not suit all aesthetic preferences.
Tape leashes can be less forgiving than cord leashes in some situations.
Requires conscious effort to ensure the tape retracts fully to avoid tripping hazards.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

The Flexi New Neon lead requires no complex setup. Simply attach the carabiner securely to your dog's collar or harness. Ensure the connection is firm before starting your walk.

Compatibility:

This lead is designed for dogs weighing up to a maximum of 15 kg. It is compatible with standard collars and harnesses. The lead is also designed to integrate with the Flexi Multi Box (sold separately) for carrying treats or waste bags.

Care:

Cleaning the leash: If the tape becomes dirty, unroll it completely and wipe it with a damp cloth using water only. Allow the tape to dry fully before allowing it to retract. Do not use detergents or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the reflective elements and material.
Storage: Store the lead in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure the tape is fully retracted before storing to prevent tangling or damage.
Maintenance: Periodically check the tape for signs of wear and tear, especially at the connection point. Inspect the casing and braking mechanism for any damage.
