Setup, Compatibility & Care
This tool requires no formal setup; simply unfold the segments until they lock into a straight line. To ensure a long service life, keep the folding joints clean from sawdust, paint, and grit. Periodically wipe the rule with a dry cloth after use. If the hinges feel stiff, a light application of dry silicone lubricant can be used, but avoid heavy oils that attract dust. Store the rule in a dry environment to prevent any oxidation of the hinge components.
