FAQs
How long does the BioStrike putty last?
The lifespan of the putty depends on usage and storage. With proper care, it can last for many fishing trips. Replace when it dries out or loses its tackiness.
Is BioStrike safe for the environment?
Yes, BioStrike is biodegradable and designed to break down over time, minimizing its environmental impact.
Can I use BioStrike with all types of flies?
Yes, it is versatile and works well with nymphs, dry flies, and streamers.
How do I remove the BioStrike from my leader?
Gently pinch and pull the putty from the leader. It should come off easily without damaging the line. In some cases, you may need to use your fingernail.
Can I reuse the BioStrike putty?
Yes, the putty is reusable. Simply remove it from the leader after each use and store it properly.
What if I lose the putty while fishing?
BioStrike is designed to be securely attached, but if lost, replace it as needed. Always be mindful of leaving no trace while fishing.
How do I adjust the depth of my fly?
Move the BioStrike putty up or down the leader to adjust the depth. Moving it further up will make the fly suspend higher in the water column.
Troubleshooting
Putty is not sticking to the leader.
Ensure the leader is clean and dry before applying. Try moistening the leader slightly or applying more pressure when attaching the putty.
Putty is too heavy and sinking the fly.
Reduce the amount of putty used. Experiment with smaller amounts until the fly suspends properly.
Putty is drying out.
Store the putty in a cool, dry place and reseal the container tightly after each use. If it dries out, try rehydrating it slightly with water.
