Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
These stair treads are designed for direct installation onto existing stair structures or walls. Ensure you have appropriate mounting hardware (screws, adhesive) suitable for your subfloor and the weight of the oak treads. Since the treads are untreated and not pre-drilled, you will need to measure and drill any necessary holes for secure fastening before installation. For use as shelves or window sills, ensure the mounting brackets are robust enough to support the load.
Compatibility:
The treads are compatible with most standard stair constructions. They can be cut to size if needed, though this requires woodworking tools and skills. Always measure carefully before making any cuts.
Care:
To maintain the natural beauty and longevity of the oak treads, clean them regularly with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or excessive moisture, as this can damage the wood. If you choose to finish the surface (stain, paint, or lacquer), follow the product manufacturer's instructions for application and drying times. Reapply finishes as needed over time to protect the wood and maintain its appearance.
