Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: These paving slabs require a well-prepared sub-base for optimal stability and longevity. Typically, this involves excavating the area, laying a compacted sub-base of hardcore or aggregate, followed by a layer of bedding sand. The slabs should then be laid onto the bedding sand and tapped into place, ensuring a level surface. Jointing can be completed with kiln-dried sand or a suitable jointing compound after installation.
Compatibility: The Marshalls Standard Paving Slabs are designed for pedestrian use and are compatible with most standard landscaping materials and edging solutions. Ensure the sub-base is appropriate for the intended use and ground conditions.
Care: To maintain the appearance and functionality of the paving, regular cleaning is recommended. Sweep away loose debris such as leaves and dirt. For tougher stains or algae growth, use a stiff brush with water and a mild detergent. Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on the surface, as this can dislodge jointing material. Periodically check for any shifting or unevenness and address as needed by releveling or repointing.
