The Faithfull Long Series Pin Punch (4.8mm / 3/16in) is designed for mechanics and engineers who need to remove stubborn pins and dowels from machinery. Its extended shank allows access to deep-set pins, providing a secure grip and efficient removal. However, its specialized nature means it may not be suitable for all types of pin removal tasks.

The main advantage is its extended shank, which allows for easier access to pins located deep within machinery or in tight spaces.
It is made from uniformly heat-treated tool steel, which provides excellent durability and strength for heavy-duty use.
Select a punch with a diameter that closely matches the pin you need to remove. A snug fit ensures effective force transfer and minimizes damage to the pin or surrounding material.
While primarily designed for pin removal, it can be used for starting or driving small rivets or dowels if the diameter is appropriate and the force is controlled. It is not designed for prying or chiseling.
Keep the punch clean and dry, applying a light oil for storage to prevent rust. Inspect the head for any damage before each use.
The pin length (shank effective length) is 90mm (3.1/2 inches), and the overall length of the punch is 200mm (8 inches).
Yes, it can be used on soft metals, but caution should be exercised to avoid deforming the pin or the surrounding material. Use controlled strikes.
Ensure the pin is oriented correctly and not seized. Check if the punch diameter is appropriate for the pin. Apply more force with the hammer or consider a slightly larger punch if necessary and if the pin is not damaged.
This indicates excessive force or improper striking angle. File the mushroomed edge flat. For repeated heavy use, consider replacing the punch to maintain safety.
Ensure the knurled area is clean and dry. If the knurling is worn, consider replacing the punch. Use work gloves for improved grip.
Setup: This tool requires no setup. Ensure the pin you intend to remove is accessible and fits within the diameter of the punch.
Compatibility: The 4.8mm (3/16in) pin punch is compatible with pins and dowels of a matching or slightly smaller diameter. It is designed for use with standard striking hammers. It is not compatible with power-actuated tools.
Care: After use, clean the punch to remove debris and any lubricant. Store in a dry environment to prevent rust. Periodically inspect the striking head for any signs of damage or mushrooming; if present, file the head smooth or replace the punch.
Lubrication: Applying a light machine oil to the shank can help prevent rust during storage.
