Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: These screws are designed for direct use. Ensure you select the appropriate screwdriver bit (typically a PZ2 or similar) that fits the screw head snugly to prevent cam-out. Pre-drilling is generally not required for uPVC frames without reinforcement, thanks to the gimlet point. Drive the screw until the head is flush with the surface of the uPVC or the hardware being attached.
Compatibility: Primarily intended for fitting hardware (handles, locks, hinges, etc.) to uPVC window and door frames that *do not* contain steel or aluminum reinforcement. They are suitable for environments with moderate corrosion potential, including urban and industrial areas with a moderate salt atmosphere.
Care: As these screws are made of A2-304 stainless steel, they require minimal care. However, to maintain their appearance and ensure longevity, avoid using abrasive cleaning agents or tools that could scratch the surface. Periodically clean the hardware and surrounding frame with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Ensure any hardware attached with these screws is also suitable for outdoor or corrosive environments to maintain overall system integrity.
