Yes, it functions perfectly as a standard charcoal grill, with the added benefit of temperature control features for more advanced techniques.
It is recommended to clear the ash after every use to ensure proper airflow for future cooking sessions.
No, the rain cover should be wiped clean with a damp cloth and mild soap; do not place it in a washing machine.
Yes, the unit features two sturdy wheels and a handle, allowing you to wheel it to different spots on flat ground.
Lump charcoal is typically recommended for better flavor and easier temperature control, though briquettes work well for long-duration cooks.
You can add the wood chips or chunks directly onto the hot charcoal to generate the smoke required for flavoring your food.
Check that all four air vents are adjusted correctly and ensure the lid is fully sealed. Ensure no ash is blocking the air intake at the bottom.
Ensure the cast iron grates are properly seasoned and preheated before placing food on them. Use a light coating of oil on the meat or the grates.
Verify that all bolts are tightened securely and confirm the wheels are locked if the model includes wheel brakes.
For assembly, ensure you have a flat, level surface and a partner to assist with the heavier steel parts. Tighten all bolts firmly but avoid overtightening to prevent stripping the frame. To maintain the smoker, clean the cast iron grates after each use with a wire brush and apply a thin layer of cooking oil to prevent oxidation. Always store the unit using the included rain cover when it is completely cool and dry; this is critical for preventing moisture damage and extending the life of the steel frame. Keep the unit away from wooden decking if possible to avoid heat damage, or use a heat-resistant mat underneath the frame.
