The Okuma T-REX 7000 is a robust, front-drag reel specifically engineered for carp anglers who require reliability and distance in their tackle. It excels at delivering consistent performance under heavy loads thanks to its powerful 13kg drag system and corrosion-resistant construction, making it an ideal choice for both braided and monofilament lines. While its 580g weight provides excellent stability, users should be aware that it may feel substantial for anglers accustomed to ultra-lightweight setups.

While it features a corrosion-resistant body, it is primarily designed for carp fishing. Ensure you rinse it thoroughly with fresh water after any exposure to salt.
The gear ratio is 4.5:1, providing strong torque for retrieving heavy loads.
The spool accommodates 310m of 0.35mm line.
The reel features a robust forged aluminium handle designed for stability and strength during intense use.
The provided specifications describe the standard aluminum spool setup; check the box contents for specific regional inclusions.
Ensure the spool is not overfilled; keep the line level just below the spool lip.
Clean any debris from the front drag cap and ensure the drag washers are properly lubricated with drag-specific grease.
Check for obstructions in the handle screw area and apply a small amount of reel oil to the moving parts.
To optimize the T-REX 7000, ensure your rod has an appropriate weight rating to balance the 580g reel weight. When spooling, apply consistent tension to ensure the line sits evenly on the LCS spool. The reel is compatible with both mono and braid, but always use a backing if you prefer thin braid to avoid line slippage. For care, rinse the reel with fresh water after each session—especially after use in saltwater or dusty environments—and periodically apply a light reel oil to the handle assembly to keep it operating smoothly. Avoid submerging the reel directly in water.
